Two dozen bodies in a decade of higher education
Thousands of talented students step into the university every year with the dream of enlightening their lives through pursuing higher education. But political vengeance and student politics have become a university in Coral Grass. Day by day the procession of the corpse is taking place. Almost every year some students are losing their lives.
Last Sunday, at three o'clock last night, a student of Bangladesh Engineering University (BUET), Abarra Fahd, was charged with murder. Over the past six years, two dozen students have been killed in political violence in Dhaka University, BUET and Rajshahi University. Ledger-based student politics, culture of irreligion, domination of the ruling party's student body, internal turmoil, extortion, tendering are the main causes of these killings.
Those concerned have said that these incidents are being repeated from the culture of the students based on lejur-based students. However, in the recent steps taken by the government against corruption, I can expect to get a fair trial of the brutal incident like BUET.
3 killed in Chibi: Terrorists were killed by Mohiuddin Kaiser, a political science student at Chittagong sixteen city railway station on the night of February 27. Later, he demanded his own staff, and the Chhatra League and Shibir muttered each other for murder. About a month and a half later, on March 25, Harun Aur Rashid, a student of the Marketing Department, was brutally killed in the throat of Chhathurihat on the way back to campus from the city by shuttle train. On April 5 of the same year, Asaduzzaman, a second-year student and BCL activist, was killed in a clash between the Chobi Chhatra League and Jobra villagers adjacent to the university. Two Shibir activists - Mujahid and Masud Bin Habib - were killed in clashes between the Chhatra League and the Shibir at Chittagong University on February 7, 2012. Masu was the camp secretary of Suhrawardy Hall. Mamun Hossain, the general secretary of Chhatra Shibir, was killed in a bloody clash between the Chhatra League-Chhatra Shibir on January 12 this year, centered on domination. Chhatra League activist Tapas was shot dead in a clash between two groups of Chhatra League on 6 December. The body of the BCL leader Yaz was last recovered from his house near the Gate 2 of the university on the night of November 27. Later on November 27, Diaz's mother, Jaheda Amin Chowdhury, filed a murder case in court. In this case, the current and former five activists of the university were accused.
4 killings in Rabi: After the Chittagong University, more killings were reported in Rajshahi University. Five students were killed in six years of clash between two groups of Chhatra League-Shibir and Chhatra League. Sharifuzzaman Nomani, the general secretary of the university's camp, was killed in the Chhatra League attack on March 25. On February 7, the university's Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was killed in a clash between the Shibir-Chhatra League and the meritorious student of University Branch Chhatra League and talented student of mathematics department. BCL activist Nasirullah Nasim was killed from the rooftop of Shah Makhdoom Hall on August 4 the same year. Fourth-year student and student of the University of Sociology al-Hasal Abd al-Hassel Abd al-Hassan al-Hussain died on the night of July 2, 2012, when a clash between the leaders of the BCL president Ahmed Ali and general secretary Abu Hussein group on the campus of the Padma Bridge. Lei Ko ›Rustam Ali Akand, Acting General Secretary of Shahid Suhrawardy Hall of the University, died at his cell on April 23, 2011.
Two murders in speech: On 7 January, 7-year-old rabbi was shot dead by two groups of Chhatra League activists at Mymensingh Bangla Agricultural University, centered on the campus. Ashraful Haque Hall Branch Chhatra League's Organizational Communication and Fisheries Honors last year student Syed Ibn Mamaz was killed by the BCL activists on March 27. But the university administration did not name anyone in the case.
Biswajit assassination in Jabi: On the day of the blockade program of 3 party on December 5, 2012, Jagannath University Chhatra League activists killed Biswajit publicly in Bahadur Shah Park. Eight people were sentenced to death and three to life imprisonment. But the five men who were sentenced to death and the rest of their lives are 'absconding'.
Jubair Ahmed, a student of the English department at Jahangirnagar University, was seriously injured in a clash between the Chhatra League on January 7, 2002. He died the next day while undergoing treatment at the hospital. Following the assassination of the university, Sharif Enamul Kabir was forced to resign. In this case, the speedy trial tribunal of Dhaka sentenced five accused to death - and six to life imprisonment - in the case. A large part of the accused has been absconding since the beginning of the case. On February 2, 2007, F Rahman Hall of Dhaka University was brutally murdered in the inner turmoil of the BCL.
