3105 crore project to supply pure water to Dhaka

The government has approved a proposal to procure 3,105 crore 4 lakh taka for ensuring pure drinking water in Dhaka.

If the project is implemented, then the lack of pure drinking water in Dhaka will reduce the number of local government departments.The proposal was approved at a meeting of the committee held in the Secretariat with finance minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhith in the chairmanship of the committee. Committee members, senior secretaries of the cabinet division, secretary of the concerned ministry and senior officials were present in the meeting. After the meeting, Additional Secretary of the Cabinet Division Mostafizur Rahman told reporters.He said that today's meeting has approved the proposal to appoint Contract Builders (DBO) Water pipeline Intake Maintenance and five MLD water treatment plant contractors in Dhaka under the purview of Dhaka WASA.Degreement Water Treatment Solutions has been appointed as a contractual company jointly for supply of two packages.
