Approval of the draft cabinet of the Agricultural Marketing Act
The cabinet has approved the policy approval of the 'Agricultural Marketing Act, 2018'.
The approval was given at the regular cabinet meeting at the Prime Minister's Office on Monday. The meeting presided over by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Cabinet Secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam told the Secretariat after the meeting.He said the provision of maximum penalty of one year or fine of one lakh rupees or both of the penalties has been made if the price of the goods is increased by creating artificial crisis in the market.He also said that the price of many agricultural commodities is less than half of the wholesale market than the retail market. The officers of the Department of Agricultural Marketing will monitor the market so that the prices of different goods can not be taken from retail market buyers. The main receipt for wholesale and retail vendors for the purchase of agricultural products. The officers of the Department of Agricultural Marketing will regularly check these receipts for the vendors. The law has been enforced by the seller to prosecute the buyer by the mobile court of crime.
