Traders demand to reduce corporate tax rates

The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI), a leading organization of traders.

It has demanded to increase the tax-free income limit and reduce corporate tax rates in the budget of fiscal year 2017-19. The demand was made at the 39th meeting of the National Board of Revenue's Board of Consultative on the city's Sonargaon on Thursday.National Board of Revenue (NBR) In the chairmanship of Mosharraf Hossain Bhuiyan, Finance Minister Abul Maal Abdul Muhit is present at the program.In the meeting, FBCCI President Shafiul Islam Mohiuddin made several written proposals regarding import duty and meat. Among them, in the fiscal year 2018-19 fiscal year, the income of personal tax-free income is Tk 350,000, corporate taxes will be reduced by 2 percent to 5 percent (2.5 percent), dual tax policy cancellation. In addition, demand for the withdrawal of VAT for all products of the ready made garments was made.Instead of 5% for the basic raw material and chemical products of domestic industry, 3% tariff levels are proposed. Also, the demand for withdrawal of duty on 47 products, including steel and iron products, sugar, cement, petroleum products, has been withdrawn.
