The church has sheltered Muslim refugees

Muslims flee the Christian militant group Ant-Balaka in the Central African Republic and take refuge in the church.

More than a month ago, these people who had taken refuge in the church were in a Catholic church southeast of the country. In the middle of May, at least 1,500 refugees, mostly Muslims, took shelter in a cathedral in the city of Bengasu to live away from the horrific violence. The parish of the church, Alain Blaise Bisalo, said the safe environment to return home is still not confirmed. People are roaming in the city with guns. So the frustration and unrest in refugees are increasing. In the last 13-14 May, anti-Balaka attacked the Tokowo area in the city of Bangsau, where the situation started in the city. Ant-Balaka consists mainly of Christians. Tokoho is mainly the Muslim area. Thousands of people take refuge in the local mosque. But later the mosque was attacked and the Imam of the mosque was killed. To save the people who took shelter in the mosque, local Catholic priests sent trucks to Tokooy to bring as many people as possible to a safe shelter in the church.
