The elected government needs to ensure the freedom of the media

BNP standing committee member Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury remarked that the elected government needed to ensure the freedom of the press.

He said this at a discussion organized by the National Press Club in the VIP lounge on Friday, to mark the 'Black Day of Media' on 16th June. Democratic Movement organizes discussion meetingAmir Khasru Mahmud said, democracy and the media can not be different in any way. Today, the media freedom in Bangladesh is not only questioned, it is being interrupted. And this constitution is working against the unposted illegal government. He said that the autocratic government first took away the franchise of the people, after which they took away all rights one by one. Which is the current government. One of the BNP's policy makers blamed the government's mismanagement of the hill collapse in the Chittagong Hill Tracts, saying that if the hill is overcast, it will be collapsed, it is normal. But before that, there was no warning given by the government to those areas. Rather, we have noticed the mismanagement of the government there. It has been due to lack of good governance and accountability in the country.
